R&R People+Culture: New and Upcoming Music- Trey Songz, Lizz Wright, Les Nubians, and Bilal

I remember buying Bilal's first album,1st Born Second, just based off of its lead single Soul Sista. Bilal's second project, released today, sounds a lot different that 1st Born Second since it has less of a hip hop sound and more of an acoustic, haunting feel.

Helene and Celia of Les Nubians seem to be pretty busy this fall. Along with the release of Nu Revolution, which is expected sometime during the next year, the sisters are planning a fall album tour to promote the project where you can pick up a 6 song sampler of the upcoming project. Download their latest song, Liberté, here.

One of the all time best albums ever in my opinion was Wright's Salt. The way she can manipulate your emotions, carrying you through beautiful soundscapes with her warm, shimmering voice is something that is very rare among today's music scene. She seamlessly combines blues, jazz and r&b in a style that has permeated through all of her albums and I'm sure Fellowship, to be released September 28, will not disappoint.

By now I'm sure you've heard the first singles off of Trey Songz highly anticipated follow up to Ready...a ballad called Can't Be Friends and a uptempo song called Bottoms Up featuring female rap phenom Nicki Minaj, which is sure to be in heavy rotation at a club near you. His latest album, Passion, Pain and Pleasure was released today and you can preview the whole album here. Check Trey Songz out on Usher's OMG tour, which starts in November.
